Cell to Singularity: Beginner’s Guide
What should be done in the game? Cell to Singularity is an idle game. Your main job is to tap the screen to earn points and then use those points to buy upgrades. The strategy of the game is to decide how best to save and spend points. The goal of the game is to move through the tree of life to learn more about evolution. The first type of points or game currency is called entropy. As you progress through the game, new forms of currency will open.
How can I collect entropy faster and more efficiently? If you have a touch screen device that supports multi-touch, you can use multiple fingers to tap, which will allow you to earn entropy much faster than with one finger. You can also use the autoclicker if you like.
Buying upgrades. Let’s say you’re wasting a lot of amino acids, and it takes you more and more time to afford to store them. If the generator costs more than a standalone upgrade, you should buy these upgrades. One-Purchase Upgrades improve the yield of generators by increasing the amount of points you get per click and making it easier/faster to get more points.
After you have purchased a few generators, set the purchase multiplier to the maximum and wait for a while. You will see that the total amount you can earn per second for each purchase depends on how many of the generators you can buy. Depending on the upgrades, the old generator might get you more than the new one until you get enough upgrades for the newer generators.
Generators. There are many different variants of generators, each divided into different trees. Generators produce currency (such as entropy, ideas, fossil points, or stardust). Any generator costs a certain amount of entropy or idea points. Moreover, each subsequent generator costs 15% more than the previous one of the same type. This roughly quadruples the cost every 10 levels. The more powerful and efficient the generators, the more expensive they will cost.
Currency. There are two currencies in the main simulation: entropy and ideas. Players can choose whether to use "regular", "scientific", or "custom" notation in their game (you can select this option in the settings menu).
Brain. So, you have finally evolved life to include apes and humans, and with these new creatures, a new, better brain has emerged. At this point, click on the big brain icon that is in the evolution tree next to where you first upgraded the brain. This action will start the production of a new currency called Ideas. Once you earn enough points and upgrade the Idea Generators, you can automate the production of both Entropy and Ideas.
Simulation failure. After purchasing the Singularity generator, your simulation will suddenly crash and you will have to start all over again. Don’t be afraid, there’s nothing dangerous about it and your game is fine. This is just the beginning of a new path in which you will start accumulating the prestigious currency known as Metabits. Metabits are used to update the Reality Engine, the computer system on which the simulation runs.
They also increase your production multiplier, which helps you produce Entropy and Ideas much faster, which in turn helps your Metabits accumulate even faster. After reaching the Singularity a second time, your simulation will not reset, but you will spend metabits to purchase an upgrade. To do this, click on the bar that is under your currency counter and you will get the Reality Engine (see screenshot).
To view your statistics, click the small graph icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
How to open the Mesozoic Valley? The Mesozoic Valley is an addition to the main gameplay that you will unlock at the very beginning of the game. To unlock it, go to your evolution tree and take a look at the screen to the right of the tetrapod generator. There you will see the Mysterious Rock. Click on the rock until the hammer counter next to it is completely reset.
After that, you will have access to a new simulation - the Mesozoic Valley. Switch between the secondary and main simulation by pressing the green dinosaur skull button in the upper right corner of the screen. You also need to unlock flatworms in order to gain access to the Mysterious Rock.
Read a detailed guide about the Mesozoic Valley in our article.
Why don’t my dinosaurs earn currency on their own? Dinosaurs don’t automate until you collect stat cards for that particular dinosaur.
How can I improve my Fossil points per tap? Fossil points per touch can be upgraded with a specific rare stat card.
Does reloading the main simulation reset the Mesozoic Valley? Reloading the main simulation does not affect the Mesozoic Valley in any way, and vice versa. These are completely separate and individual simulations. However, resetting the Mesozoic Valley simulation unlocks the next Mesozoic Valley rank, and each Mesozoic Valley rank speeds up the main simulation by 2%.
What is the maximum rank in the Mesozoic Valley? Level 50 is the highest rank after which you should gain prestige. Increase your prestige by clicking "Prestige" at the top of the window. The highest level of prestige is 10.
Cell to Singularity: Tips for a successful game
1. Use daily rewards to collect all sharks. Did you find all 6 available sharks in the simulation? If not, keep checking the simulation every day to earn daily rewards.
2. Get extra currency. Use Darwinium to activate bursts of entropy and ideas and get additional in-game currency. It is also recommended to use explosions to instantly get a large amount of game currency.
3. Earn metabits. Once you reach the Singularity for the first time, you will unlock the Reality Engine and be able to earn Metabits. This will increase the speed of your simulation and allow you to unlock new features in the main simulation.
4. Reach the Singularity as soon as possible. Quickly get to the singularity on the main evolution tree using nanobots. Try to move as fast as possible after resetting the simulation. Remember that your nanobots can help you with this.
5. Don’t forget to activate overdrive before offline . Your overdrive isn’t just for real-time play - you can leave it on when you’re out of the game. Be sure to upgrade this power-up before you switch off and go to the real world.
6. Get new generators and upgrades. Activate the singularity to get more powerful generators and upgrades. The New Architects of the Universe may not realize the sheer power of the Singularity. By activating it for the first time, your simulation will run faster and more efficiently.
7. Collect mystery trait cards. Every 20 minutes, get a new Mystery Trait card from the Mesozoic Valley trait menu. When you need new trait cards in the Mesozoic Valley, it’s a good option to buy back a mysterious trait card. This option is available in the Traits menu and can help you with your dinosaur research. It also gives a chance to get rare and epic cards.
8. Watch the gold quantum charges in the simulation. Aspiring universe architects may not know that golden quantum charges help boost your modeling revenue. These bonuses appear randomly on the main and secondary evolution trees - so watch carefully.
9. Use auto touch nanobots. Nanobot Touch Mode can be layered on top of other upgrades. Nanobot auto-touch gives you a way to earn extra entropy. It can be combined with Accelerators and Shooting Stars, so it is recommended to use this method more often to get even more profitable payouts.
10. Collect mutagen. It is important to collect the mutagen that you earn by buying dinosaurs. The accumulation of the mutagen during the development of the Mesozoic Valley is an integral part of the research process. Once you can collect the mutagen after purchasing a certain number of dinosaurs, be sure to get it as soon as possible.
11. Open all nodes. Some nodes cannot be unlocked right away - look for the necessary resources for them. Have you encountered a strange glitch in the simulation? Most likely some unopened node is blocking your progress path. Collect enough currency needed to unlock it, after which you can continue your exploration.
12. Generate Ideas. When you unlock the "First Idea" trait in your initial development, a human brain will appear on the main tree. This intelligent body allows you to unlock your first Ideas - the necessary currency to learn more about human technology.
13. Use silver comets. If you wait when you first enter the simulation, you will see a silver comet flying through the galaxy. Click on it before it passes by and then tap on it for a massive production boost for 30 seconds.
14. Initiate extinction in the Mesozoic Valley. To progress through the Mesozoic Valley, don’t dodge the extinction events. Sometimes extinction is necessary for evolution to flourish. Trigger the Extinction event in the Mesozoic Valley to make your way through the dinosaur valley and collect as many geodes as you can along the way.
15. Use the mysterious stone. Novice Architects of the Universe can find a peculiar stone on the main tree of evolution. Legend has it that an ancient relic can be found in its core. You must click on the mysterious stone at least 200 times before opening it.
16. Don’t forget about astronomical missions. Use astronomy missions to your advantage for extra income and offline rewards. Astronomy missions are a useful mechanic for lucrative rewards, extra dark matter, and more. These missions run even when your simulation is off, so make sure all mission slots are full before going offline.
17. Use golden asteroids. Look for golden asteroids in the tech tree and in the Garden to increase your stardust levels. Don’t miss the opportunity to quickly increase the amount of stardust with golden asteroids.
18. Simulate a temporary black vortex. Have you noticed anomalies that appear around celestial bodies and disappear without a trace? If clicked on, these black whirlwinds can give you a valuable production boost for the indicated celestial body.
19. Use constellations. Use the constellations to improve different areas of your universe. When you collect constellation fragments, they can be used to compose the constellations of the zodiac. This star system unlocks valuable upgrades upon completion of each unique constellation.
Cell to Singularity: Development of the Mesozoic Valley
Concept. Mesozoic Valley is an optional simulation showing the evolutionary history of prehistoric creatures throughout the Mesozoic Era. First of all, it includes various types of dinosaurs, as well as some prehistoric non-dinosaurs. This expansion explores the evolution of dinosaurs from archosaurs, through their Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction, to their eventual evolution into modern birds.
How to open this simulator? After unlocking the flatworm, you will see a "mysterious rock" on the main evolution tree. Clicking on the rock repeatedly destroys it and opens the Mesozoic Valley: a new standalone simulation where a standalone tech tree can be found. Progressing an additional simulation increases the speed of the main simulation and eventually unlocks additional generators.
Start of development. The Mesozoic Valley starts with one species of dinosaur, and as you advance in rank, more species are revealed. Clicking the screen will generate Fossil Points one per click, but can be obtained faster by pressing the arrow button at the top of each dinosaur species icon in the tree to "charge" the node. Clicking on the dinosaur itself allows you to purchase more copies of the dinosaur, which increases the yield of fossil points from each charge.
How to generate points automatically? Dinosaurs will not auto-generate Fossil Points without touch until you have unlocked the corresponding Damn Cards. They automate the production of fossil points for each dinosaur, eliminating the need for you to press the arrow button and increasing the productivity of each dinosaur. Damn cards are upgraded and upgraded with a mutagen, a currency obtained by purchasing a certain number of dinosaurs, but they must first be unlocked by collecting cards from geodes.
Quests. At the top of the screen are quests that give you tasks such as "Collect 25 Stegosaurus", "Upgrade 3 Stats", and "Photograph an Archosaur". Three quests are displayed at the same time, and with each rank, more quests are required to complete in order to advance to the next rank. After completing the quest, you receive a stone geode containing mutagen cards and Damn.
Extinction event. After completing enough quests for each rank of the Mesozoic Valley, you will have the opportunity to trigger the Extinction event (although, as a rule, you still have additional quests that you can complete to receive additional rewards). When the extinction occurs, an asteroid falls from the sky, destroying your dinosaurs and restarting the valley, similar to the reset caused by the first Singularity.
Extinction allows you to unlock new dinosaurs. It also gives you a silver geode and increases the valley simulation level by 1. Each additional Mesozoic Valley rank will increase the base simulation speed with decreasing returns. The speed multiplier is 1+ (rank / 10), so rank 1 gives a 1.1x multiplier, rank 2 gives 1.2x, up to rank 50 gives 6x. Reaching certain ranks will also unlock additional bonus generators for the main generator.
Prestige. At level 50, the "Asteroid" button changes to a "Prestige" button, which will allow you to reset the Mesozoic Valley in exchange for one "Warm Climate" trait card at level one, which gives a 50% bonus to income from all dinosaurs. At the same time, epic and rare Traits are preserved, as is the mutagen, but the cards of common Traits will be reset to zero.
The rank increases to prestige rank 1, which retains the base simulation multiplier and keeps the reptile generators unlocked. The maximum number of prestiges is 10. It is generally recommended to build up as much mutagen as possible along the way so that you can advance your dinosaurs as far as possible.
Dinosaur statistics. Your dinosaurs have the following stats:
- Cost: This is the number of fossil points required to purchase the first copy of each dinosaur. The cost increases by 15% (cumulatively) each time a new copy is purchased. The cost can be reduced by gaining rare or epic Traits.
- Profit: This is the cost of fossil points from the dinosaur, which is obtained each time one production cycle ends. Profit increases when the corresponding Traits are activated.
- Duration: This is the initial time to complete one cycle of generating fossil points. Cycle duration can be reduced by activating Traits. By activating the first Duration Reducing Trait, the dinosaur cycle is automated. As soon as the cycle becomes extremely short, it is replaced by a simple rate of points per second.
- Unlock: This is the rank required to purchase the first copy of the dinosaur.
- Traits: These are the ranks required to unlock individual dinosaur stats.
Properties (traits). Traits are cards that can improve dinosaurs at the expense of a mutagen. When you open geodes, you can get mutagen, darwinium, and Traits. You can also watch the "Mysterious Trait" advertisement to get cards of one random Trait. Common Traits affect one dinosaur. Rare Traits affect an entire category of dinosaurs, such as all carnivores or all bipeds. Epic Traits affect each dinosaur.
Ways Damn. For each Trait, when you level it up using more cards, it will follow one of several different paths:
- Speed way. The first update will automate the dinosaur so it will be able to produce fossil points without being pressed.
- Payout path. Doubles payouts for every update.
- Cost path. Reduces the purchase price of each dinosaur. Only comes from rare and epic Traits.
- Fossil Crane Path. The Rare Trait "Ammonoidea" increases the payout for tapping the screen.
Mutagen. Mutagen can be earned by reaching production targets for each dinosaur species and unlocking geodes. Geode payouts are randomized but increase with your rank in the simulation. Production rewards have a fixed cost but are paid separately for each species, so unlocking more species gives you access to more rewards.
Number of dinosaurs | Reward |
ten | 2 |
25 | four |
fifty | 6 |
100 | ten |
150 | twenty |
250 | 40 |
500 | 60 |
600 | 80 |
800 | 100 |
Unlock in the main simulation. Reaching certain ranks will unlock the following generators for the main simulation as part of the Rise of the Reptilians tree:
- Rank 3 - Turtle;
- Rank 6 - Crocodile;
- Rank 10 - Lizard;
- Rank 15 - Snake;
- Rank 23 - Galliforms;
- Rank 28 - Anseriformes;
- Rank 33 - Paleognaths;
- Rank 38 - Neoaves.
Cell to Singularity: Guide to in-game currencies
Entropy. Entropy is the first currency in the game and is used for biological evolution and species-to-species growth. It can be generated from the very beginning of the game by simply clicking on the background of any game zone. Over time, as you create new life forms (generators such as DNA and amino acids) and upgrades, you will be able to generate more entropy both passively and with normal screen taps.
If you are low on entropy, other forms of currency such as darwinium can help you generate it. They activate Quantum Triggers that give you additional 4 Darwinium Entropy and 3 Darwinium Time Flow. If you are offline more, you get more entropy and more Ideas. The maximum period for accumulating entropy and Ideas offline is 18 hours and 18 minutes.
Ideas. Ideas are the second currency unlocked in the game. It is used to advance in the "Civilization" section of the tree. Ideas are used to purchase upgrades for each era of civilization. They are unlocked after receiving the "First Idea" update, which costs 901 billion entropy. Ideas can be created by unlocking the brain of ideas.
Open the brain of ideas by unlocking the Stone Age, the segment of the tech tree containing the Civilization section (after the Stone Age is unlocked), the Civilization gardens, or by simply clicking next to the Civilization tree. If you have purchased a Mars discovery rover, clicking on Mars in the space garden will also give you Ideas.
Metabits. Metabits are the currency of prestige. Your entropy and production of Ideas create metabits. Get more Entropy and Ideas to produce more Metabits. Each Metabit requires more Entropy and Ideas than the previous one. The total amount of metabits earned is a "simulation level", which by itself passively increases the production multiplier. This is independent of the number of Metabits available that can be spent in the Reality Engine tree to increase Production, Click Value, or Offline Production Value.
You can also get metabits in the main simulation and in the Mesozoic Valley.
Darwinium. Darwinium can be used instead of watching ads to use boosters, to get extra entropy and Ideas, and to buy geodes in the Mesozoic Valley and stars in Outland. Usage:
- Quantum charge: 1 darwinium or advertising.
- Acceleration boost: 2 darwinium or advertising.
- Shooting star: 2 darwiniums or advertising.
- 2x (or 4x) offline earnings: 2 darwiniums or advertising.
- Stone Geode: Sometimes free in the store, but available for 2 Darwinium.
- Golden Geode: 20 Darwinium.
- Diamond Geode: 100 Darwinium.
- The flow of time: (2 hours of entropy and ideas) 3 darwinium.
- Entropy Surge: 4 Darwinium.
- Idea Splash: 4 Darwiniums (for initial ideas, you can simply click on the brain).
- Random Trait: 2 Darwiniums.
- Dwarf star: 2 darwinium or advertising.
- Medium sized star: 20 darwinium.
- Supergiant star: 100 darwinium.
If you don’t buy Darwinium, save it for Diamond Geodes, as they have persistent, hard-to-reproduce effects and can’t be purchased by watching ads.
Fossil points. Fossil points are the main currency in the Mesozoic Valley. They are used to purchase dinosaurs and are reset through the Extinction event. Fossil points can be obtained by clicking in the valley (one per click), using quantum charges, or from the dinosaurs themselves. Dinosaurs give a different amount of fossil points. It depends on the number of dinosaurs owned and traits activated.
Mutagen. Mutagen is a currency in the Mesozoic Valley. The mutagen is used to upgrade traits and carry over from rank to rank. It doesn’t reset after triggering an asteroid, and even persists after a level 50 prestige reset. There are several ways to get a mutagen.
- Geode opening. Each geode contains a certain amount of mutagen, depending on the level.
- Buying dinosaurs. You can have dinosaurs that give a mutagen.
- Achievements. You can earn achievements for creating 75 or 200 of a certain type of dinosaur. Each of these achievements gives a one-time payout in the form of fossil and mutagen points.
You can choose when to receive the reward, so if you hit an achievement at the end of a level, you can delay the payout until the next level, when it’s more rewarding.
Cell to Singularity: Features of the development of civilizations
ancient civilizations
Stone Age. Unlocked after Stone Tools. Unlocks: Advanced stone tools, fire, hunting, burial, big game, fishing. The Stone Age is the first generator of civilization. It is the weakest civilization generator, having a base performance of only 0.10 ideas per second.
The Stone Age was the prehistoric period when the first Homo sapiens developed. This is also the first age of the system of three ages (Stone, Bronze and Iron). This is the only civilization generator (along with some upgrades) that can be purchased without purchasing a Human.
Neolithic. Unlocked after Additional Stone Tools, Speech, Burial and Human. Unlocks: Pottery, Farming. The Neolithic is the second generator of ideas and the second ancient civilization on the tree of ideas. The Neolithic was important for inventions such as writing, which marked the end of the prehistoric period.
During this time, people domesticated animals and plants and began to live in permanent buildings. A Neolithic icon depicts a household at a hut. Even though the Neolithic is not the same generator as the Stone Age in the game, it is technically considered the third part and the end of the Stone Age. Base idea production: 0.25 ideas/sec.
Bronze Age. Unlocked after Metallurgy, Plow and Letter. Unlocks: Bronze, Arithmetic, Iron. The Bronze Age is the third generator of ideas. In this century, people began to use bronze to make their tools and began to introduce new forms of learning such as mathematics, writing, and medicine. The base production of ideas in this generator reaches 2.2 ideas/s. The generator icon is an anvil with a hammer and a bar, presumably made of bronze, from which sparks fly.
Iron age. Unlocked after Iron and Alphabet. Unlocks: Gunpowder, Warfare, Government, Iron Tools, Algebra. Iron Age is the fourth idea generator in the game and the last generator of ancient civilizations. In this century, people began to make tools and weapons from iron, and advanced in agriculture and the arts (including pottery and beadwork). The base idea production here goes up to 5 ideas/s.
Pre-industrial civilizations
Middle Ages. Unlocked after completing military and public service. Unlocks: Windmill, Organized Religion, Feudalism, Movable Font. The Middle Ages is the fifth idea generator in the game and the first generator of pre-industrial civilizations. The base production of ideas in this generator is up to 20 ideas/s.
The era of great discoveries. Unlocked after Organized Religion, Paper Money and Printing Press. Unlocks: Banking, Caravel, Astrolabe, Galleon, Magnetic Compass, Sextant. The Age of Discovery is the sixth idea generator and the second of the pre-industrial civilizations.
During this era, innovations in navigation and transportation allowed Europe and America to establish contact, leading to colonization, cultural exchange, and violence. The symbol of the era of great discoveries is a golden sextant and a spyglass. Basic idea production: 50 ideas/sec.
Scientific revolution. Unlocked after Banking, Caravel and Astrolabe. The scientific revolution is the seventh generator of ideas and the last generator of pre-industrial civilizations. In this age, mankind has made scientific advances that have given it an understanding of the world. The symbol of the scientific revolution is the orrery, a rotating brass model of the sun and planets in our solar system. The base idea production here reaches 719 ideas/s.
Technological civilizations
Industrial Revolution. Unlocked after unlocking the Steam Engine and 3 laws of motion. The Industrial Revolution is the eighth generator of ideas and the first generator of technological civilizations. In this century, mankind creates the first machines that allow mass production. It also marks the moment when ecosystems start to get severely damaged due to pollution. The Industrial Revolution badge is a blue train with white smoke coming out of its chimney. Base idea production reaches 4356 ideas/s.
Atomic Age. Unlocked after Factory and Phone. It is the ninth idea generator and the second technological civilization generator. In this century, humanity creates nuclear weapons, transistors and the first human exploration in space. The Atomic Age badge is a radio tower emitting a yellowish-green radio wave. Base idea production reaches 354,938 ideas/s.
Information Age. Unlocked after Atomic Bomb and Computer. This is the tenth generator producing ideas and the third generator of technological civilizations. In this era, humanity creates computers and the Internet, and this is the era in which we live now. Base idea production reaches 460 million ideas/s.
Emergent era. The Emergent Age is the third generator of technological civilizations and the eleventh generator producing ideas in general. Her icon shows a drone. Unblocked after opening the Internet. The base production of ideas here reaches 2.12 billion ideas / s.
Singularity. The Singularity is the 12th civilization generator and an important step in the mechanics of the game as a whole. Her icon looks like a spinning blue human head with purple digital particles. When you first reach the Singularity, you see a series of ominous warning messages while purchasing upgrades leading to this generator. When you select Singularity, you are given the option to buy it and reset your simulation, or continue playing without updating your simulation.
Choosing to purchase the Singularity will reset the simulation’s progress and allow you to unlock metabits, a new currency that is used to upgrade the simulation itself. This reboot is symbolized by a dramatic "crash" and an error message from Semblance. By spending accumulated points on bonuses in the Reality Engine interface, you increase the speed and efficiency of the simulation and unlock new content.
After a reload, when you reach the Singularity a second time, the game does not automatically reload the simulation. All subsequent reloads are activated by clicking on the metabit bar below the currency counter.
Androids. Android is the type of life that comes after the Singularity. It has no additional updates. Android robots inhabit the deepest reaches of the Uncanny Valley and are designed to mimic human form. The basic production of ideas here reaches 118.14 T of ideas per second. To unlock you need to open a humanoid robot.
Smart android. The sentient android is the latest generator of Technological Civilizations. Has 5 updates. A sentient android is fully conscious, with artificial intelligence housed in a simulated human body, perhaps even indistinguishable from its organic counterpart. Unlocks: stylized appearance, self-changing abilities, embodied human consciousness, personality programming.

Cell to Singularity: Getting Achievements
Concept. The game contains 375 achievements.
- 19 of them are general achievements, significant breakthroughs in the history of evolution. Most of them can be obtained in the main simulation, while the rest are located in the Mesozoic Valley and beyond.
- Another 215 achievements can be obtained by purchasing a certain number of generators (usually with levels 25, 50, 150 and 250 in the main simulation). They start with an amino acid and currently end with a Martian city.
- The next 50 achievements you can get for the development of generators in the Mesozoic Valley (with levels 75 and 200). Here they start with an archosaurus and end with a Gigantosaurus.
- There are 80 achievements to get in the Beyond simulation.
- You will receive 34 achievements for reaching rank 5 on each celestial object, except for the last 4 celestial objects, which only require rank 3.
- Another 34 achievements you will get for reaching rank 10 on each celestial object above.
- There are also 11 additional secret achievements, the tenth of which will not appear until you unlock Caniforms.

Cell to Singularity: Is it worth playing?
Cell to Singularity is a game about the origin of life. Here you have a unique opportunity to travel to the distant past and find out how our Universe has evolved - from the appearance of unicellular to the development of superhumans and androids. Build your Evolution Tree, use entropy and open up new eras of civilization development with the help of Ideas. Definitely, the simplicity and mystery of Cell to Singularity will appeal to both fans of casual games and other players who are not focused on this genre. Here’s why you should give this game a try:
- Cell to Singularity is well designed: it has decent graphics and even voice acting. The gameplay itself takes place under classical musical compositions known to every person;
- The game includes a lot of useful information about the structure of the world and living organisms. It serves not only an entertainment purpose, but also helps you to repeat the school biology course and expand your horizons.
- The game does not take much free time. All you have to do is periodically go online and make new updates.
- The game includes an offline earning option that allows you to successfully accumulate game currencies offline.
- The game is minimally dependent on donations. You can make in-game purchases to speed up the process, but this will not affect the overall game rhythm and game development in any way.
