Eternium: Guide for Beginners

Eternium is a fictional game world in which you have to fight for the world against evil forces. You can learn the whole story that preceded your adventures from the first introductory video, from conversations with Elder Alarion, and read on the level’s loading screens. At the start of the game, you can create 1 - 3 heroes who will go through storylines separately, but they will have a joint chest through which you can transfer valuable items between characters, there will be a common bank with rubies and gold. If you earn gold stones on one hero, then you can spend it on any other. We have discussed the benefits of creating multiple characters below.

First, you go through a small tutorial and a simple chapter, from which you can learn how to control your character, see how monsters behave in battle. Then you get to the Hometown, from which you will travel through the worlds of the game. The first hero you will meet is the sage Alarion. He will give you recommendations and tasks for the storyline.

The plot is the main part of the gameplay in which you will fight and earn currency for development. The worlds and levels of the story open in turn, but you can return to any stage to increase the experience for further passage or to increase your treasury. One gate leads to history and Trials, which are located in the north of the city. After passing the gate, you will be taken to the transition screen to the game modes. The screen is divided into 2 tabs (the switching buttons are located at the top of the display) - Adventures and Trials (we wrote about them below).

Highlights of the passage of the game

Screen of the worlds.The Adventure window is divided into 2 parts. Several planets are shown on the left side of the screen - these are the worlds through which you will move through the story campaign. The central and right part of the display is a map of the current world. Objects are marked on it. If you have passed any location, it will remain available all the time. By clicking on the desired location, you can see the difficulty level under its name: Normal (normal) - this location suits your difficulty level Hard - the passage can be complicated, since the monsters are a couple of levels higher than yours (if you raise the level by completed stages, the difficulty may change to normal). There are 2 more difficulty levels for passing: Easy (when the enemies are several levels lower than you) and Difficult (when the opponents are several levels higher than you).

Map. By going into history, you can wander around the map, meet with allies and rivals. The control of the heroes is very simple, you will learn it in the training mode. There is a mini-map in the upper right corner. It displays the part of the location where you are at the current moment. It shows monsters (red circles), chests (yellow circles) and you (green circles). Other items are also displayed on the minimap.

If you tap your finger on the mini-map, the entire location map will open. If you haven’t unlocked a lot yet, it will be in fog on the big map. Open areas are well drawn. Thanks to the maps, you can navigate (this is especially important in large or dark locations). If you are running to perform a specific task (for example, to find statues), and do not want to spend a lot of time fighting opponents, then you can look at the mini-map and see red dots on it, after which you can bypass them.

By the way, there are monsters that sense your approach very well, and will gladly run towards you waving their weapons. But there are enemies that only react to you when you poke them with your weapons or affect them with spells. The first group of monsters are aggressive opponents, the second - non-aggressive enemies.

If you do not need experience, then you can safely run past non-aggressive creatures. But aggressive monsters will chase you for a very long time until your companions destroy them (if you do not pay attention to them), or you will all die together from the powerful blows of elite monsters.

Location screen. Almost always, you will be accompanied by an arrow on your travels, which will lead the team to the place of the task. But sometimes there is no arrow, which makes it difficult to navigate on large maps. In the lower right corner, there is a button in the form of an exclamation mark, which will always tell you the progress of the mission. Also in the lower right corner there are 3 call buttons:

  1. Portal - you can poke the button with your finger or draw an S symbol on the screen. A teleport home will appear.
  2. An apple is a healing product that restores your health within a few seconds and fully replenishes your gauge. You can call him at any time of the battle by pressing the button or drawing the W symbol. Feel free to pick up apples along the way. They stack in the inventory in one cell, so they do not take up much space.
  3. Essence is a healing drink that instantly restores your health bar. It can be applied by clicking on the button or by drawing an arrow symbol. Essence, like apples, stacks into 1 inventory slot.
Collect all the apples and essences that drop from the destroyed monsters, as they can save your life during the fight if you lack the "health per hit" effect, which restores your health for a percentage of the enemy hit.

Droplets of blood. During the battle, various items will appear under our feet - these are bags of gold, materials, equipment items (the drop depends on the monster you are fighting). But often red circles will fall - these are droplets of blood that will restore a little health points to you and your companions. If you feel that you are about to depart to another world, then just run through the drops. This can save you and your companions. If you click on a droplet, it will be highlighted, and instantly fly into your hands, while the creature with which you fought will no longer stand out as a target.

Skills. On the left side of the screen are always your active skills that you choose before the battle (we wrote more about them below). Here the skills are divided into 3 parts, the top two are your abilities that you can activate during the fight by drawing a certain symbol. If you forget the symbol - it does not matter, as they are always, as a hint, indicated next to the skill icon.

An attacking skill is always applied after an enemy is selected (his health bar is placed in the upper right side of the screen). The second offensive skill can be activated after tapping the target with two fingers. Useful skills are placed in 2 parts of the icons. Part 3 is reserved for launchable companion skills (you can learn about them below). Companion skill activation symbols are also shown next to their icons.

Skill duration. After activating the skill, if it has a cast time (for example, the freeze lasts 6 seconds), then the icon will be displayed in the upper right corner of the screen, according to which you will see its timer. Tracking the cast time of the ability will allow you to move to another location or use a different skill, as well as know when the effect of the skill will end.

Spell recharge. When you have activated a skill, its icon on the left panel turns gray. Each skill has a certain period of time, after which you can use the skill again. This time can be reduced by increasing the "reload speed" from the equipment’s attributes. If the cooldown of the skill is not over, then you will not be able to activate it. You will not be able to adjust the cooldown time for allied skills.

Health scale. Located at the top left of the screen. It displays the maximum number of health points at the moment. Health can be increased using the "health" characteristic on equipment items. Also, base health increases with each new level (as well as strength). If the health bar is empty during the battle, you will die. But you will not move home, but will start the passage from the moment of death.

But a certain amount of gold is taken for your revival. If there is not enough gold in your account, and it is not enough to revive you at the stage of death, then you will be reborn at the last save point (it happens automatically in some places of the map until you resurrect, you will not know where your progress was captured).

Experience scale. It is located at the bottom of any game screen. On it you can navigate how many experience points you do not have enough to move to a new level. Experience is given only in battles with monsters or for completing tasks. It is impossible to get it in other ways. But you can increase the rate of gaining experience points with the help of a special item "experience enhancer" (given during certain game events and promotions) or using the "experience gain" parameter on equipment.

Game currency

Rubies. This is the premium in-game currency. They rarely drop from monsters, so they cannot be mass-produced in locations. But rubies can be obtained in the following places:

  1. Daily tasks - you can get up to 20 stones from 1 hero as much as possible.
  2. Monsters on locations - up to 3 stones (extremely rare).
  3. Reward boxes - 5 gems for watching 1 video.
  4. New hero level - 5 rubies per level on each character.
  5. Achievements - up to 50 rubies, depending on the complexity of the condition.
  6. Daily entrance to the game - every few days you can get up to 10 rubies and other items.
  7. Plot tasks - up to 100 rubies, depending on the complexity of the passage.

Rubies are used to unlock chest slots, inventory slots, component slots, skill upgrade queue, slots for skills used. Rubies can also be used to buy gold, rare in-game items, special sets, and much more. You can speed up the process of pumping abilities. We do not recommend spending rubies at the start of the game, just save them until you understand where you really need to spend them. At any stage of the game, we do not recommend buying gold for rubies.

Gold. This is the main and most accessible currency in the game. Basically, you will mine gold from monsters in locations. The higher the level of the character, the more gold he needs to develop. Gold can be obtained from the following sources:

  1. Story quests - taken in your hometown from various non-player characters (NPCs).
  2. Daily entry into the game.
  3. Monsters on maps and in Trials.

Eternium: Tips for getting currency quickly

Plot

It is best to start farming after reaching high levels, when you already have a full set of legendary equipment. Farm is methodical monotonous actions aimed at obtaining certain game items, mainly currency. At the same time, full-fledged mining should begin after you can deal more than 40,000 damage in order for this occupation to really become profitable. Until then, you can make do with raw gems.

The main goal in the extraction of currency and materials is to move quickly. Find a level with a lot of hard-hit enemies or an easy-to-reach boss, and take them out as fast as you can. Remember that small levels take more time to load and have fewer bosses.

Play on the difficulty level where you cannot die, no matter how many enemies attack you at the same time, and attract as many opponents as possible at a time.

When going to farm, you need to equip yourself for the maximum increase in attack and movement speed. Also pick the right spells. For example, it is important for magicians to learn the spell of choice as much as possible. It has massive damage (kills several monsters at once), gives the hero the ability to pass through walls, has a very large range and increases your movement speed. You don’t have to chase enemies with Lightning. Whirlwind can also be useful, as it pulls groups of enemies together and stuns them. Never stop to collect drops. All of them will fly at you at the end of the level. Ignore groups of enemies and even chests that are off to the side. When you’re farming, you can’t spend thirty seconds chasing a small chest! If you want the best items, focus on the bosses.

Story levels for farming:

1. Morgenheim (level 47) is an amazing, if not the best, farming spot in the game. Chests scattered throughout the fortress, a handful of elite monsters to kill are a great way to get gold, gems, and pretty much any item in the game.

2. Siege of Underhelm (level 11) - it has one boss and a chest, it is almost as short as Severed Mountain, but the enemy density is very high to get a lot of gems. Go ahead with Lightning, attracting several groups of enemies at once. Don’t worry about side passages and small chests as they will just slow you down, but if you lean back and forth a bit, you can hit a few extra groups of monsters without wasting too much time. Ignore the towers and head straight for the boss. After you kill him, wait a second - and shoot one lightning bolt in both directions to kill nearby enemies, so if you don’t wait, you’ll have to chase them down.

3. Severed Mountain (level 10) - this level is very easy and has the most easily accessible boss in the game, making it good for farming gems and equipment. With high movement speed, you can skip all normal enemies, kill the boss and leave the level. In addition, you can quickly kill ordinary monsters to get gems and gold. The strategy is to get past one group of enemies and move on to the other so you can take out both groups at the same time with your Lightning. Experienced players gave us another way to get even more gems in this level. If you use your abilities to stun Margoth long enough, you can destroy him before he escapes, resulting in a 100% gem drop chance.

4. City of Malador (level 39) - This is one of the longest levels in the game. It has many large groups of monsters, a boss that spawns even more enemies, 3 large chests and 10 small chests. Focus on increasing your attack and movement speed because you have a lot of running to do. This level will earn you a lot of gems and gold, and since it’s long, you won’t have to spend a lot of time loading.

Other levels:

Farm gold

If gold is your goal, you want the highest level of adventure difficulty that you can complete quickly. Go to the city of Malador (level 39). Get to the boss as quickly as possible with items that increase your movement speed. Enough durability is very necessary here so that the boss cannot easily kill you. Also, when farming gold at this level, you need low damage so that you cannot quickly destroy the boss, as this reduces the percentage of receiving rewards from him. After attacking the boss - run away, teasing him until he appears. lizards. When you kill lizards, you will get several boxes with a question mark, full of gold. You can farm these little monsters for as long as you like, collecting large amounts of gold. Avoid stunning or freezing the boss, because in this case, he will summon fewer lizards.

Trials are a good place to farm gold and gems, but you only get 3 keys per day to complete them. To save time, fight her on a difficulty level where you can kill her quite easily. Once you’ve used up your keys, just take out the bosses as fast as you can. The easiest way to get to the bosses is in Severed Mountain (level 10) and Siege of Underhelm (level 11).

AFK method (when you apply a minimum of actions, and the hero does everything for you). At level 24, The Smell of Home, you can shoot the first enemy, and just keep shooting (the character will automatically switch to other enemies by itself) until the level is over. And while you’re just watching the battle from the side, you will be adding gold, rubies and gems for equipment.

Hero Abilities

Abilities are what allow you to deal damage and manipulate the battlefield to your advantage. Skills are of 3 types:

  1. Attack is what you use to deal most of your damage and they can be used by tapping 1 or 2 fingers on your target.
  2. Utility - used to affect things around you, such as stunning your enemies, granting yourself and your companions buffs, reflecting damage, or increasing the damage you can deal with your attacks. You use skills by swiping special symbols over the area you want to affect. The first skill is free and is activated by drawing a V sign. The second skill costs 75 rubies and is activated by drawing an upside down V. The third skill costs 350 gems and is activated by drawing a V tilted to the right.
  3. Passive skills - give small bonuses to your stats or other effects without requiring active use. Their badges are shaped like an eight-pointed star.

Each class of heroes has a different set of abilities: the warrior has 21 abilities, the mage has 20, and the bounty hunter has 18. Your companions have 4 or 5 abilities depending on their type. Each skill can be put into a special slot (except for passive ones), which will be displayed on the location screen.

Ability Page

On the abilities page, you can see which abilities you have unlocked, improve your skills, and choose which ones you will use. On the left side of the page are cells for improvements. In the top right corner are your active ability slots where you can place your unlocked skills. In the lower right corner is a list of all the abilities that your character can have.

You start with 1 slot of each type, and it is recommended that you eventually unlock all of them in order to be able to use more abilities at the same time. This will make your character much stronger. All classes gain a class-specific "Innate Passive Ability". These passive abilities are not highlighted in the hero spellbooks.

You can upgrade an ability by dragging it to an empty upgrade slot. The game will then open a confirmation window showing the cost and consequences of upgrading that skill. Leveling up a skill can give it an additional attribute. For example, freezing or stunning opponents.

The synergy level is the bonus you get for upgrading your abilities, and it is equal to the number of upgrades your skills have. The bonuses you get from a synergy level increase for every 10 synergy levels. Your current synergy level can be seen on the left side of the skill page above your upgrade slots. By clicking on your synergy level, you will see what bonuses you get, what bonuses you will receive, as well as the next level of your synergy level.

Hero Attributes

Each hero can develop several characteristics by leveling up or by improving equipment items. There are a lot of characteristics, and all of them affect your behavior in battle. Statistics calculation

Dealing damage. Weapon Damage (WD) - Most abilities increase their damage with so-called weapon damage. The boost factor is displayed in the ability’s tooltip. For example, a warrior’s offensive ability "Strike" has a 210% multiplier at skill level 1. This means that when used, it will deal 2.1 times the damage of the weapon the hero is holding.

Weapon damage (WD) is calculated by taking into account your base weapon damage (BWD), which is the damage listed on your weapon, and a multiplier derived from your strength attribute. You can find out the total strength (PM) in the detailed statistics by clicking on the "Details" button, which is located under the character’s equipment. Note that BWD is actually a range listed as the minimum and maximum damage a weapon can deal, the actual damage is picked randomly within that range whenever you hit a monster.

If your hero is a mage and has a tome, the damage from your tome is added to your BWD. For example, a mage with a sword and a tome: a sword in the right hand - 100-200 damage + a tome for the left hand - 20-40 damage. Damage bar width - from 120 to 240 units. For two-handed weapons, BWD is calculated as the average damage of the two weapons. For example, a warrior who wields two swords: a sword in the right hand - 100-200 damage points + a sword for the left hand - 50-100 damage points. BWD = 75 to 150 units.

All heroes have a base weapon damage of 1, even without equipment. This has been added to BWD.

Power multiplier (PM). The damage multiplier derived from strength is calculated using the following formula:

As you can see, the multiplier goes down as you level up. But on the other hand, as you level up, you will find items with more power, so your damage will increase as you get better gear.

Let’s plug in some numbers and see what we get. For example, a level 28 warrior using a sword and shield (Storm Blade: 126-168 damage) has a power of 208. The weapon’s base damage ranges from 127 to 169. The power multiplier is 208/(27*1,837+10)= 208/59.6 = 3.49. From here, the resulting weapon damage will deal damage in the range = [127...169]*(1+3.49) = [570...759]. Hitting a monster with the 210% Strike ability will deal 1197 to 1594 damage.

Critical hits. Whenever you hit a monster with an ability, you have a chance to deal a critical hit, double damage, or more, depending on your critical damage stat. In the example above, the warrior has a +14% critical damage bonus from Stormblade. Thus, the damage from a critical hit will be multiplied by 2.14. With a total of +100% Critical Damage, your critical hits will deal triple damage instead of double.

The chance to deal a critical hit increases based on your Critical Strike Rating.

Eternium: Gear Guide

Each class has its own style of equipment. For example, a bounty hunter cannot wear armor and weapons of war. When creating a new hero and starting the first level of the story mode, you start with normal armor, normal pants and normal weapons (depending on your character class), the bounty hunter starts with dual weapons in both hands.

The quality of the subject. Equipment has several qualities that determine its effectiveness in battle:

Named items (color depends on the qualities listed here, can be epic or legendary) - very rarely drop from any enemy in the game. Each of them has a special unique ability that other items cannot have. Such items can only be epic or legendary. Moreover, the chance of getting a legendary item is several times lower than an epic one. The highest chance of dropping a nominal item is from the insane witch Gorgon. These items cannot be dropped by summoned monsters, including skeletons, merlocs, and any others.

Living items (only available as epic items) are a special type of equipment that can only be obtained during a special event or purchased for real money. The feature of the item is that its level grows along with the level of the owner. If the game increases the maximum level limit of heroes, then the level limit of living items that players have will automatically be increased. A set of equipment is a rare piece of clothing for your heroes that has an overall additional bonus. For example, if you collect 4 things from one set, then you will receive a bonus - increased damage or increased attack speed. Sets are divided by character classes, if the set is intended for a mage, and you play as a warrior, then you cannot equip the set.

Craft equipment

Crafting is the manufacture or improvement of an item using special materials. You can craft all kinds of weapons in the game. equipment and jewelry (rings, necklaces). You can also encrust stones with any object to increase its parameters, or to obtain additional effects. There are two non-playable characters for crafting in the Hometown - Morgan the jeweler (you can make jewelry) and Ingrid the forge (other items are made.

Materials. Crafting requires special materials that you can get in the story and Trials, buy, get from chests, or dismantle unnecessary items in the Disassembly or craft from a blacksmith. Higher quality materials can be obtained from the fusion of several lower quality resources.

Craft jewelry. Everything is simple here, you go to Morgan, then select the attribute you need, select the desired decoration, and after paying a certain amount of money, press the forging button. If at the initial levels you can make jewelry by choosing the attribute you need for gold, then after a certain level of the hero, you will be asked to pay for the work with rubies.

At the jeweler, you can perform the "Fusion" of rings or necklaces. To do this, you need to insert 3 decorations of the same quality into special cells, and click on the crafting button. Then a higher quality item will appear. For example, if you want to get 1 rare ring from 3 unusual rings with different attributes, then you need to put the rings in the slots. After this operation, a rare ring will randomly receive 2 parameters out of the three offered. If the rings have the same attribute, then it will be 100% transferred to the received ring, the game will add the second parameter on its own in random order.

Craft equipment. You come to the blacksmith, and you are first asked to choose an item or action that you want to perform:

  1. Weapons - here you can craft melee weapons (sword, axe, mace), magical hand weapons (tome), magical weapons (staff) and shields. Each type of weapon has (in addition to the normal weapon types) the ability to purchase a unique weapon, which can be obtained after researching the blueprint (can be bought from Liana the blueprint merchant).
  2. Armor - here you can craft some types of armor: light armor (hoods, caps, mantles and more), cloaks, bracers and belts. In the "Light Armor" section, it is possible to make sets.
  3. Trinkets are an item of equipment that can be equipped with all attributes, except for movement speed.
  4. Enchantment - gives a certain type of equipment to receive additional properties. For example, when hit with a sword, you can deal additional lightning damage. Or get a certain attribute boost. For example, you can increase the survivability of all breastplates by 25 points. Second, you must fill all 5 character slots as soon as possible. 3 hero slot costs 100 rubies, 4 - 500 rubies and 5 - 1000 rubies.
