Marvel Battle Lines: A Beginner’s Guide

Marvel Battle Lines is a tic-tac-toe-like card game released by Nexon. The game has a nice appearance and a storyline in the form of comics. The player is the holder of the decks. Hero cards are obtained as you progress through the campaign, as well as by opening special sets for keys. You can make several decks to complete different tasks. Each card has its own abilities and connections with other character cards. By choosing the right deck, you will increase your chances of winning.

Game modes

Plot. The game has several interesting modes. At the start of the game, you will have access to only 1 activity - this is the passage of the campaign (storyline). In the campaign mode, you can choose to pass only the squad leader, all other cards will be given to you by the system. There are 3 difficulty modes in the campaign. You can go through the chapters of the storyline again, while it is possible to use the "auto-passage". That is, the battle itself will not be available to you, but if you have previously defeated these rivals, then you will immediately receive a reward.

After completing the campaign mode completely, new game activities will become available to you. For example, PvP arena - Arena 51.

Special assignments. The game has an interesting adventure for the lone player called "Special Missions". The maximum reward for completing tasks can only be obtained by passing it by 3 stars. If you fail to get all the stars from 1 time, then you can return at another time and try again.

Daily missions. Every day you will have access to several tasks that are recommended to complete, as for them you will receive rare items and powerful cards. For completing tasks and entering the game for the first 7 days, you will be given the highest rewards.

We recommend completing all the quests of the first days of the game, as the received prizes for completing missions will become the basis for your game account. Also, at the start, you should not spend precious stones and rare items, in the future very few of them will drop out, and the cost of pumping and passing some activities will require gems.

Marvel Battle Lines: Battle Secrets

The battlefield is a chained board where you and your opponent will place your hero cards. Wrong location can reduce the chance of an attack. In the beginning, the game introduces you to how to correctly and incorrectly place character cards on the board.

All game mechanics are based on the rules of tic-tac-toe. If you play this game well, then it will not be difficult for you to win not only in PvE content, but also to advance through the ranks of the Arena.

Cards can be upgraded by getting duplicates. In addition to hero cards, there are support (movement) cards, with which you can, for example, free a cell by destroying an enemy card on it, and putting your card there.

The player’s task is to prevent the enemy from building the correct row of his cards, for this it is necessary not only to correctly place his soldiers, but also to move the opponent’s cards.

The picture below shows the incorrect placement of heroes on the battlefield.

And the following images show the correct placement of the cards.

Action cards. Each turn you can call on the field only 1 card, but after that you have the opportunity to apply action cards that can be put on the field an unlimited number of times in 1 turn (if there is such a prospect). But here it should be remembered that the action characters leave the deck after use. Therefore, you need to have a leader or an ordinary fighter who has the ability to return an action hero to the deck.

Team leader. In battle mode, your team leader will be placed in the lower left corner. Each leader has a certain number of health points. The rest of the cards that are called on the field have less health. But as long as the leader (yours or your opponent’s) is alive, the game continues.

The leader’s health is taken away at the moment when on the field you (or the enemy) builds up the correct line of heroes.

In some "Special Operations" the leader will be given to you forcibly, that is, randomly. Therefore, if you did not complete the task for 3 stars from 1 time, then it is best to choose a squad specifically for the leader given to you in order to get more efficiency in the fight.

Space fragments. Space fragments will come across on the cells of the battle. They must be collected by placing your card on their square. The call of your cards depends on the number of fragments, since at the start of the battle, players are limited by the number of fragments for calling cards.

In order to get a comfortable start to the fight, you need to recruit characters with 0 cost to accumulate fragments for more powerful cards, and these cards will also help you if you run out of all fragments in the middle or at the end of the battle.

Switching cards - you will have 12 symbols in your deck, but only 4 fighters can be displayed on the screen (during the battle). You can replace any card with a new one. To do this, you need to click on the hero you want to replace with a random card from the deck and select the switch option. The received new card cannot be switched.

Combat tips:

  1. Attack the enemy leader - to attack the enemy leader, the player must pass 1 or more lines on the table. For example, you can fill the th vertical line with 4 characters or 1 horizontal line with 3 cards. After making a row, all characters in a line will attack together.
  2. Move heroes on the table - by clicking on a character who is on the field, you can move him to another cell, you just need to select any empty slot. If the map is surrounded by enemies, then you will not be able to move.
  3. Attack the opponent on the board - this can be done with a stationary card or a movement symbol. Before you place a card on the field, a green area will appear, which will indicate the range of the attack. Before attacking, you need to make sure that the health points of your card are higher than the attack power of the enemy. Otherwise, your card will be bad the next turn.
  4. Protect your leader - this requires not letting the enemy line up.

Marvel Battle Lines: Map Guide

The cards form the basis of the game. They need to be collected and improved, of which you will make up squads for different activities. Each character has its own characteristics and skills that must be compared when choosing a team. For example, attacking fighters cannot live on the field without support cards (actions), and both warriors require healing, so it is important to take healers. It’s good if the squad has cards that can control the actions of the opponent’s characters. For example, block the move or take away health points.

The cards are divided into 2 types:

  1. Active (stationary) heroes are heroes who are placed on the field, and they can be on the cell until the line is collected or until they are knocked out by the enemy. These champions can be summoned once per turn.
  2. Action cards are characters that can manipulate enemy heroes. For example, remove a warrior from the cell, and make room for your ally. Action fighters can be summoned in 1 turn as many times as they want, but after use it is excluded from the deck.

Each card has characteristics:

Rarity. Cards vary in rarity (from green to gold - legendary). The higher the rarity of the hero, the stronger he is. Therefore, it is worth considering when pumping cards that warriors can only be strengthened with cards of low rarity. Gold and purple (epic) heroes will come in handy in the high stages of the game.

Connections. There are also differences in hero groups. They are distributed in the same way as in the Marvel comics: symbionts, avengers, elves, and others. Since each group (type) of cards has its own characteristics, other warriors can oppose them, or, conversely, type 1 cards can be associated with heroes of the same type. For example, Poison imposes a positive effect only on allies of its type (symbiotes), and the Avengers will effectively fight Hydra’s fighters (and vice versa).

But it is recommended to build a team from different types of heroes so that you can resist rivals in Arena 51 (PvP - mode). If you have warriors of the 1st type, then there is a high probability of losing. For example, a team of symbiotes will not be able to withstand 2 - 3 cards with fire skills. And fire heroes will be weak against mechanisms (for example, Ultron).

To find out the ability of the character and his connection, you should click on the image of the card. Information about the attack power, health points and other characteristics will also appear on the screen. In the lower right corner there is a number - this is the cost of calling the card on the field. But cost does not determine the value of a character. There are heroes with 0 cost that do a lot of harm to the enemy.

In order to effectively use your characters in any activity, you need to study all the cards in the game as much as possible. So you will know what abilities and capabilities the enemy has. Based on this, you will build a battle strategy.

For example, you will notice that the enemy has placed a stationary card on the field that attacks your heroes every turn, dealing 100 damage. Therefore, you can try to knock the enemy off the board with an action card. And if you were hit with an action card, then you can be sure that it will not appear again in the next turn (or even until the end of the fight, if the opponent does not have a hero who will return the fighter to the deck).

Ways to get cards:

  1. Passage of the story campaign.
  2. Completion of missions in "Special Operations".
  3. Participation in game events.
  4. Opening chests (you can buy them for real money or get them for free once a day).
  5. Buy in the store using in-game currency.

How to level up a hero? To do this, you need to collect the required number of cards - duplicates. You should go to the "My card" menu, and select the required hero. Under his portrait, you can see the number of copies you have, as well as how much more you need to collect for pumping. If you have collected all the components (duplicates and gold), then you can click on the "Update" button to increase the level of the character.

How to change a leader? At the start of the game, you will act as the team leader. After completing the training, you will receive a new leader - Iron Man. In the future, you will be able to change the leader of the team. And to change the commander, you need to go to the "My card" menu. The "Change" button is located in the lower left part of the section screen. After clicking, a small window will appear in which you can select a new squad captain.

Marvel Battle Lines: Top Characters (Tier List)

At the moment, the best characters in the game are heroes who have leadership qualities. Leaders can increase the abilities of the cards of the deck, or react to the actions of the enemy.

These warriors can be collected in 1 deck and play with it in the Arena. There are no restrictions in this game, you can make a team of any heroes for yourself.

Marvel Battle Lines: Horde Mode Walkthrough

A mode where it is necessary to repulse the attacked "triskelion" (an ancient symbol with 3 beams emanating from 1 point). You must try to clear as many waves of the enemy advancing on you as possible. You can earn rewards with each refined wave. If you do not have entrance tickets to the mode, you can get 1 of them after logging in daily at 6 am.

Players must fight their way up, battling countless waves of enemies all the way from Wave 1 70. The higher you go, the more difficult the fight becomes.

Deck leader. Currently, Black Panther will be the best deck leader for the Horde mode, as it deals 80 damage to all enemies on the battlefield if your health points are 1000 or below. The Black Panther can be obtained by reaching level 25 in the game.

Horde Mode Walkthrough

If you do not completely destroy one wave, then the second will still appear on the battlefield. Space fragments will randomly appear on the board on empty squares. The placement of the fragments does not change between each wave, so it is advised to play your cards wisely.

Enemies on the cells appear randomly, without a specific system. At every 5th stage, you will face a boss with a different level of total health points. To defeat each boss, you are advised to form a battle line that deals enough damage to destroy the enemy. After defeating each boss, you will be rewarded with a health boost, space shards, or the return of one of your previously used action cards.

After defeating the boss on every 10th wave, your leader’s health points will be increased by a certain amount:

The healing provided on the list may be different for each player.

Secret entrance. If this is not your first time playing Horde mode, you have the opportunity to skip 10 stages at the same time, gaining access to the secret entrance. To use the feature, you will need to pay 10 gems for 10 levels, which you can skip up to 51 waves. After this wave, you will no longer be able to use the secret entrance to skip any stages.

What to expect from bosses? We decided to make it easier for you to pass by listing the actions of the enemy. The placement of enemies on the battlefield is random, but the attack and hit statistics are accurate.
