Section 1. Basic principles.

All authors must strictly adhere to this editorial policy and follow the basic principles described here.

1. Usefulness. The article should be of use to the readers. It should help both novice players and experienced gamers in passing the game. Images should not only illustrate the content, but contribute to a better understanding of what is described in the article.

2. Completeness. There are many sources of information, all of which are described in Section 2 Content Sources. The task of the authors is to collect as much information on the game as possible, and not be content with just a few sources. The article, however, must include the most useful and valuable information for readers.

3. Expertise. There are many opinions in the game world that can contradict each other (who is better to play for, how to level up correctly). The game can be played in many ways and each of them has the right to life. The author must definitely understand the rules of the game and write the information most useful for passing it. It is strictly forbidden to give advice that is guaranteed to harm the players. Hacking games, mods, cheats and other deceptive technologies cannot be described.

4. Registration. All information in the article should be well-formed and structured as much as possible. The design should help readers quickly find the desired section or fragment of the article, and better understand the events described. For more information on article formatting, see Section 3 Text Formatting.

Section 2. Sources of content.

The assignment for the author may contain additional requirements for the article, as well as information to help writing. For writing it is necessary to use ALL sources of information listed here. This is especially true for new or unpopular games, for which there is very little information.

1. Your gaming experience is the most useful and valuable source of information and should not be ignored. Here are some tips to help you get the most:

1.1. At the beginning of each game, new players are taught the rules and the background of the game and the game world is told. Study the proposed material very carefully, this will make your article the most complete and useful. Many players skip the tutorial and then often lose without knowing the rules.

1.2. Some games have nice built-in help. It can be located in the game settings, sections: support, help, manual, wiki, etc. The activities of the game can contain texts describing them.

1.3. It is enough to play a few hours to understand the game and open most of its activities. Using your gaming experience, you can already write a good article for novice gamers. However, for experienced players, this will not be enough, so you need to look for information in other sources.

1.4. Many games have similar game mechanics. Therefore, the advice you gave in previous articles may be useful for other games as well.

To get screenshots and text from the game, we advise you to install the XRecorder program or an equivalent into your phone. We recommend using the simple ABBYY Screenshot Reader to translate images into text.

2. YouTube - many players post their videos with tips and secrets of the passage. Therefore, YouTube can be a valuable source of information from experienced gamers. There is a built-in subtitle translator in YouTube settings. Using it, you can understand the essence of the video in other languages. In the video, the necessary information can be shown, but not announced.

3. Sites and wiki. We recommend using www.google.com to find information. In the search box, along with the name of the game, enter the words: wiki, guide, walkthrough, etc. You must use information in any language. For translation use translate.google.ru, the resulting text must be rewritten.

4. Official communities. Check the official sites of the game developers, official communities at www.facebook.com, vk.com and other social networks. In them, the developers inform about new activities of the game, make guides and tell about the secrets of passing the game.

Section 3. Formatting text.

We use docs.google.com to design articles. It is prohibited to write an article in other text editors, including MS Word. For registration you must use appropriate elements docs.google.com. The editorial policy itself is an example of article formatting.

It is optimal to make paragraphs in 3-5 sentences. It is forbidden to make paragraphs in one sentence.

Headings are allowed only for 2 and 3 levels using the Google Docs heading design. There must be 2 or more paragraphs of text between headings.

Bold should be 1-3 words at the beginning of the paragraph, making them like a mini-heading. You cannot highlight in bold within a paragraph.

Lists are numbered and bulleted. A numbered list - when items cannot be swapped (1-breakfast, 2-lunch, 3-dinner), labeled - when it is possible (stone, scissors, paper). Multilevel lists are prohibited. The list should be preceded by an explanatory line.

Paragraphs with numbers are lists of large bullets. Example: Section 1.

We use italics only for paragraphs with secrets, tips and useful information for readers. Example in Section 2 after point 1.4.

You can only combine bold and lists, paragraphs, tables. Other design combinations cannot be used.

Section 4. Contents of the article.

Headings of the 2nd level should contain the words: Guide, Secrets, Tips, Walkthrough, How to do it correctly, etc. The optimal number of headings is from 8 to 30. If the article is short, then it is allowed to make 3-8 headings. Headlines should be intriguing and engaging for readers.

It is better not to change the names (heroes, locations, bosses, weapons, spells, etc.). But it is allowed to translate them from a foreign language when the translation is obvious.

There should be a minimum of useless phrases, the so-called "water" in the text. If a phrase or sentence can be deleted without losing the meaning and quality of the text, then this must be done.

It is better not to insert emoji and special characters into the text. You can replace them with words (★★★ - 3 stars) or common symbols (-, +, =, *, etc.)

Not a description, but advice. Tell less, advise more. Don’t describe, but give recommendations. Use the imperative mood more often: pass, pump, take, use, do not forget, perform, etc., as well as the words: advise, recommend, better, strive, etc.

Use game slang to a minimum (buff, skill, dungeon, demag, etc.) Specific game abbreviations must be written in full (pet - pet, quality - pumping, etc.).

It is not recommended to use complex large sentences that are difficult to understand. It is necessary to break them down into several small sentences.

We respect the reader. Assume that the reader is older and smarter than you, he has a solid gaming experience. You cannot show condescension, arrogance, arrogance and in any other way humiliate the reader.

The editor-in-chief writes for the article: 1 level heading, 1 paragraph, promotional paragraph, table of contents and a paragraph with authors. There is no need for authors to write these blocks, unless it is directly indicated in the assignment.

Section 5. Inserting images.

To take screenshots from a video, we recommend using a small Lightshot program or an equivalent. Adjust the program to the maximum image quality. Copy screenshots directly to the clipboard and expose it to text.

Section 6. Using tables.

It is necessary to use tables in the article. They serve to organize information and help to better understand the text. When using tables, a number of rules must be followed:

IndicatorThe rule
WidthThe table should be no more than 3 columns wide. Broader tables are difficult to read and look bad on a mobile phone screen.
