Food Street Restaurant: Secrets of farming

Farming and its features. Farming plays a key role in Food Street. Plant and animal products are an ever-needed resource to create the ingredients that go into many of your restaurant’s dishes.

There are three ways to obtain raw ingredients:

  1. Plants in the garden.
  2. Farm buildings.
  3. Garden shrubs.
Garden plots, plants and all outbuildings can be placed in any corner of the playing area.

Garden plots. Beds are special containers for growing plants that can be placed on any free plot of land in your game. At the start of the game you have access to six garden beds.

The first three crops that are unlocked at the first experience level are wheat, tomatoes and corn.

Grow and harvest crops in your garden beds, and then use them as ingredients to cook dishes in your restaurant. Currently, the maximum number of available beds in the game is 18.

The table shows the experience levels that unlock access to additional beds, as well as the number of coins required to purchase them:

Level.Permitted quantity.Price.
1.6.0 coins.
7.1.100 coins.
13.1.500 coins.
21.1.3000 coins.

Garden crops. The ingredients are produced and collected from garden plots, where some are used in various outbuildings to produce animal products. Each garden plot requires an area of one 1x1 floor tile.

The harvested crops are stored in the pantry, and access to different crops opens with experience level 1.

Growing garden crops. To grow and harvest crops, you need to click on an empty garden plot to open a menu with all available crops. This menu displays crop icons, how much of each crop you have, and the time it takes to grow them.

To plant the desired crop, scroll through the garden crops menu and select the desired variety, then tap the garden plot. Once a certain amount of time has passed, the crop will be ready for harvest. To harvest, just touch the plant and you can collect 2 units from each plot.

Once you reach level 7 and unlock the trading feature, you will be able to trade your crops on the market for coins with other players.

To grow new crops, you must have at least one copy of this crop in your inventory. If by chance the latest crop is used, you will be given a free copy to plant.

You also can:

Garden crops. Additional information can be found in the list of ingredients:

Garden plants. Garden plants include a variety of trees and shrubs that bear edible fruits, berries and leaves. These plants can be placed anywhere in the playing area. Trees and shrubs can be collected once, after which they can be revived by inviting any of the neighbors. After the second harvest, the plant dies and needs to be replaced with a new one. Each plant can produce up to three garden harvests.

All garden plants are available in stores. To view your plant selection, click on the Farming icon. Fruit plants become available at certain levels.

Each fruit plant takes up a 2x2 space on a tree or bush. They cannot be rotated, but can be placed anywhere in the playing area. The maximum allowed quantity is 20 plants of each type. The harvest collected from garden plants is stored in the pantry.

Growing garden plants. The best way to grow garden plants is to ensure that the fruits ripen at the right time, saving storage space. Fruit trees and shrubs automatically renew after the first harvest of all three fruits, providing a second harvest.

After the second harvest, the plant withers and the player needs to request help by clicking on the plant and selecting the red helping hand icon. Any visitor will be able to revive the plant by clicking on it, and after that the plant will give a third harvest.

Once the plant is harvested and resurrected, it dies and will require a saw or glove to assist in removing the tree or bush. Planting a large number of trees and shrubs at the same time can have both positive and negative consequences.

The first building available is the chicken coop, which opens at experience level 3. The last building becomes available at experience level 61.

Purchase of farm buildings. Farm buildings require payment in coins and some time to build. Once purchased, such buildings cannot be sold or retained. Farm buildings are essential elements for successful play in all strategic plans.

Chicken coop. Chickens are kept in a chicken coop, which becomes available at experience level 3. This is the first farm building that can be unlocked in the game. Chicks require 1 corn per egg and 2 corn per chick.

The coop should be placed on 2x2 tiles. It can be rotated 360 degrees for design purposes. The coop doors are open when the hens are actively producing eggs and chicks. When hens are resting on the nest and there is no production activity, the coop doors are closed.

The cost of building a chicken coop is 50 coins, and construction takes 8 seconds.

Cowshed and its features. Cowsheds are an important farm building in which cows are kept. They are unlocked at player experience level 7. Cows to produce milk and beef require 1 green for each milk and 2 green for each beef.

The barn is traditional in style with red trim and white and gray accents. This is the largest of all farm buildings and will require a 3x3 area to construct. Its design allows 360 degree rotation. The entrance doors of the barn are always closed, but the windows are open so that the animals can get hay from the feeder outside the window. The windows are closed when there is no production activity in the barn.

The cost of building a cowshed is 80 coins, and construction takes 2 minutes.

Pen for pigs. A pig settles in the pen. Access to this farm building opens upon reaching experience level 31. In order for pigs to produce pork and bacon, they need carrots.

The pig pen is a square area with a shed and a water trough. It requires a 3x3 floor tile area and can be rotated 360 degrees for design purposes. The pig prefers to play on the lawn when there is no need to cook pork or bacon. During idleness, the pig rests in the open ground.

Building a pig pen will cost 12,000 Coins and take 12 hours to build.

Sheepfold. Access to this farm building is unlocked at experience level 61. The ewe rests on the grass in a paddock that is located outside the protected area until it is time to care for the lambs. Each lamb requires 3 servings of greens to raise.

To build a sheep pen, you need an area of 2x2 floor tiles. It can be rotated 360 degrees for design purposes. The sheep are in an active state, grazing in the field when the lamb needs to be cooked. At the end of the working day, the sheep rest and sleep.

Building a sheep pen will cost 250,000 coins and will take 1 day plus 1 hour to build.

Bee hive. The hive is home to bees. It becomes available at experience level 56. Bees usually remain calm until it is time to produce honey. They require 3 sugar sticks to produce each plot of honey.

For a hive you need 1x1 tiles. It can be rotated 360 degrees to change the design. When the bees forage for honey, the top of the hive opens and they become active. However, when there is no production activity, the hive lid is closed.

Building a hive requires 180,000 coins and will take 23 hours.

What is a pantry? The storage facility is designed to preserve garden products, harvests and equipment to expand the range, as well as for the pleasure of fishing. The appearance of the vault changes as the player upgrades it. The final design is displayed when the storage capacity can accommodate 550 items.

Pantry improvements. To improve your pantry, you need to use boards, measuring tapes, and saws.

Initially, the storage capacity is 50 items. Each update increases its capacity by 20 seats.

Each upgrade requires the same number of boards, measuring tapes and saws, however the number of items required increases by 1 with each subsequent upgrade.

Supplies. Supplies are items that are used to increase storage capacity and expand territory beyond the original playing area. Some of these items have limited availability, so it is recommended not to sell them as they may be valuable. Supplies sometimes drop during the game when collecting resources.
